Nursing and Midwifery professionals continue to be at the heart of the response to COVID-19. It has undoubtedly been the most challenging, difficult and pressurised time in generations for staff working in healthcare across the UK.

Now thanks to your donations, UHCW Charity have been able to give Nurses, Midwives and Nursing Associates access to Nightingale Frontline: Leadership Support Service, which supports Nurses and Midwives to continue to lead the NHS through the pandemic and beyond.

The virtual leadership support sessions are facilitated by expert FNF Associate Facilitators who are highly experienced and skilled in a method of Action Learning known as Co-Consulting. This approach combines the benefits of coaching with peer learning in an environment underpinned by psychological safety.

Victoria Parker, Practice Facilitator, said of the leadership support service:

“This support forms part of our ongoing response to the pressures of the pandemic on our Nursing and Midwifery workforces. UHCW Charity were really supportive when I was completing the grant application process and guided me through each step.”

The support service is part of a number of initiatives and training delivered by the Florence Nightingale Foundation, founded in 1929. The foundation aims to pioneer change and improvement in patient and health outcomes through improving leadership for Nursing and Midwifery staff, honouring Florence Nightingale’s legacy.
