Community and Events Fundraiser
Do you love working with people, have bags of enthusiasm and want to make a difference? If so, then UHCW Charity needs you! Join us and make things better for our patients, their families and our NHS staff!
We are searching for a new Community and Events Fundraiser to join our friendly and growing team. This is a great role for someone who enjoys variety. A typical day could be:
- Going into a local school to talk to the students about the charity.
- Meeting with a local sports group who are organising a fundraising event for us.
- Researching other potential community groups who may like to fundraise for us.
- Having a chat and a cup of tea with a hospital patient who has popped into the charity office to find out how they can support us.
- Organising the delivery of fundraising and promotional materials to a local faith group for an event.
Reporting to the Charity Director, the post holder will play a key role in the development and implementation of our fundraising strategy to increase funds for the vital work of our hospitals and our community services.
This is an exciting time to join our small but focused team with a real opportunity to make a huge difference by supporting local fundraisers across Coventry and Warwickshire for our high-profile projects and campaigns.
If you have a passion for the NHS and excellent people skills, this is an exciting opportunity. Maybe you’re an experienced fundraiser or perhaps you are looking for career change, have excellent communication skills and looking to support a worthy cause.
Due to the large geographical area covered by this role, the successful applicant will need to be able to travel independently throughout the area.
About you:
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who has experience of working with donors and volunteers. However, having the right personality and a willingness to learn is more important than experience. This is a key role for UHCW Charity, and the right candidate will work with hospital staff, patients and their families to raise vital funds.
You will need to be an excellent communicator, confident in contacting supporters over the telephone as well as meeting them face to face. As our Community Fundraiser, you will regularly give talks and presentations to various groups and local organisations.
You will need to demonstrate your ability to work well on your own initiative as well as be a real team player. This is a busy and demanding role often with conflicting deadlines so the ability to prioritise your workloads and have an organised, methodical approach is essential.
The successful candidate will benefit from working in a dynamic and well-supported team which is going through a key period of growth and investment in resources and facilities.
Part-time/Job share considered for the right applicant(s).
