A new outdoor dining space has been opened outside Poplars restaurant at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby to give both staff and patients access to a tranquil area to relax and unwind.

Featuring wooden planters filled with herbs and flowers and a bird feeding station, the new area includes two large benches with seating and large parasol umbrellas to provide shelter when needed.

Janine Beddow, Site Manager at Hospital of St Cross, said: “The health and wellbeing of our staff and patients is really important and we hope that by making these improvements to the surroundings at our Rugby site we will help to enhance the staff working environment and give patients a nice area to relax in-between appointments and receiving care with us.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to UHCW Charity for providing the funding for the new outdoor space and we’re encouraging staff to use the planters to plant their own herbs to help us create a kitchen garden for everyone visiting the hospital to enjoy!”
