Our inspirational UHCW Charity Director, Jo O’Sullivan, and her daughter Hannah, took on the Birmingham Irish Cycle Appeal’s mammoth coast to coast cycling challenge.
The team of 34 cycled 909km (565miles) across Ireland in 6.5 days, through wind, rain, torrential rain and sometimes even sideways rain.
They conquered 23% gradient mountain climbs, windy coastal lanes and a good few dual carriageways, all the way from Mizen Head, West Cork to Malin Head, Donegal. Despite knee injuries, chafing and general fatigue, Jo and Hannah completed the challenge and smashed their fundraising target, raising over £3,000 for our Maternity Bereavement Appeal! Amazing effort!
