Thanks to your donations the Paediatric High Dependency Unit at University Hospital Coventry has recently purchased 9 new reclining chairs; providing even more care and comfort for some of our youngest patients and their families.

Due to space restrictions in the ward, it isn’t possible to provide a fold up bed for a parent to stay with their child overnight. The new reclining chairs will provide a space at each child’s bedside for a parent to stay the night much more comfortably than in a standard chair.

A parent on the ward said “My son has a condition which means that we are regular visitors to this ward and these chairs are making our stay so much more comfortable. The chairs recline which mean that I am able to sleep next to him overnight and because the chair is robust enough to support him when he wants a cuddle we can sit together in secure comfort”

Thanks to your support, UHCW Charity can continue to provide funding for world-leading equipment that makes things better for our staff, our patients and their families. You can donate here.
