Transforming Surgery at UHCW

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, UHCW Charity has funded a cutting-edge £1.9 million surgical robot – the biggest grant we’ve ever given – giving cancer patients world-leading care.

This state-of-the-art Da Vinci surgical robot enables our expert surgical teams to carry out highly complex, minimally invasive procedures with unmatched precision and control. By using this technology, we can significantly reduce recovery times, minimise the risk of infection, and enhance overall surgical outcomes for our patients. This means tumours can be removed quickly and effectively, with less post-operative pain, less blood loss and a quicker recovery time at home for our patients – some patients may even be able to leave the hospital on the same day.

The addition of this third robotic system will mean over 1,400 patients across Coventry and Warwickshire can be operated on robotically per year.

Read about Joe’s story below to see the incredible impact this technology is already having on our patients.
