Why Not To Buy Items Directly
Rather than buying items with your donation we would appreciate the donation directly for the following reasons:

As a Charity we often receive VAT exemption on the items we buy and/or a reduction in price
We Know the Priorities
We know where the most help is needed and can ensure that your donation has the greatest impact on patients and staff. We can work with your chosen Department/Ward to figure out where the donation would benefit them best
Items must meet Specific NHS Standards
Medical equipment should always be bought through the NHS Trust. This ensures that it is compatible with existing systems and meets all health and safety requirements
Furniture and other items also have to meet our high infection control standards
To Ensure it Lasts
When items are brought through the Trust they go on the maintenance schedule which ensures that they are maintained and replaced when needed
