As a small charity, we rely on the skills and time of our supporters to ensure we can continue our vital work.

Some of the roles can be carried out from your home, others require you to come to our office in University Hospital.

From bringing in a few collection boxes from shops near to where you live to photographing our events, scanning documents to promoting our lottery there are many ways you can help. We have put the tasks we need help with together under specific roles. Read

Most roles require a regular commitment of a 3-4 hours a week, although some roles require less. For example, our collection box volunteer could volunteer 3-4 hours every month.

If you cannot commit to giving us time regularly, we would be most grateful if you join our volunteer task force. This means that we will ask for your help when we organise events or annual activities. The types of activities you may be involved with are helping at a stall in a fete or book sale, taking details of participants at the start of an event or setting up/down an event.

Ongoing Support

Throughout your volunteering you will be supported by staff until you are happy with carrying out your tasks unaided. Volunteers who are based in the hospital will be required to attend a short NHS Trust's volunteers induction. This will help you to navigate around the building as well as receive advice on the ways we work in the organisation, including with vulnerable people.

UHCW Charity operates in line with the volunteer policies and procedures of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
