Your NHS Organisation's Procedures and Fundraising Policy

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity  is the official charity of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust.

We manage the fundraising relationships and receive the voluntary income for the wards, services and research of the NHS organisations. We use this voluntary income to fund innovative ideas that impact on the health of the community served, such new equipment, facilities and services - that are outside NHS provision.

Each NHS organisation has procedures and policy in place to  support this working relationship.

Fundraising

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity  is responsible for all voluntary income and gifts in kind given in support of University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust and all fundraising for the Trusts.  NHS staff must not offer advice to fundraisers or discuss, other than generally, how their donation will be used.

Everyone who is fundraising for the NHS organisation (i a charitable fund), including NHS staff and patients must first register their fundraising activity with University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity.

The Charity will us this information to:

1) check that the fundraising is legal

2) offer the appropriate advice to the fundraiser

3) see how the fundraiser wants their donation to benefit patients and work with the NHS organisation to make this possible.

Please refer fundraisers to the Get Involved section of the website for more information, including how to register their activity.

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust  has a Fundraising Policy to ensure that their staff  know what to do when someone makes a donation or fundraising so that they are not put at risk by offering the wrong advise to donors and fundraisers. This is available on the Trust's e-library.
